A domestic disturbance investigation in rural Greene County led to the arrests of three people after authorities executed a search warrant and allegedly discovered methamphetamine, cocaine, drug paraphernalia, firearms, and other suspected illegal substances.

Benjamin Wayne Brown, 49, of Bloomington; Ashlie Chambers, 41, of Solsberry; and Stacie Marie LaPresto, 55, of Bloomington, were all arrested Aug. 12 following the investigation at a residence on Greene County Line Road.

Brown appeared in Greene Superior Court for an initial hearing Aug. 13. According to court records, the hearing could not proceed because of his disruptive behavior.

Chambers also appeared in court Aug. 13, where a judge set her bond at $30,000 surety with 10% cash allowed. LaPresto is scheduled to appear for an initial hearing Aug. 17.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Greene County Sheriff's deputies responded shortly after midnight Aug. 12 to a report of an active domestic disturbance at the residence. While investigating the incident, deputies interviewed several people who made statements alleging methamphetamine, crack cocaine, spice and drug paraphernalia were present inside the home and in vehicles on the property.

Investigators said Brown told deputies Chambers possessed methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the residence and claimed drugs were sometimes stored in vehicles on the property. Deputies said other individuals at the scene also made statements regarding alleged drug activity before later changing portions of their accounts.

After Chambers initially consented to a search of the residence but later withdrew that consent, investigators obtained a search warrant.

According to the affidavit, members of the Greene County Sheriff's Office and Indiana State Police searched the residence and three vehicles on the property.

Investigators reported finding suspected psilocybin mushrooms inside Brown's Honda Civic, while Chambers' Ford F-150 allegedly contained suspected methamphetamine, suspected cocaine and a .22-caliber rifle.

Inside the residence, deputies reported finding suspected methamphetamine that field-tested positive, multiple hypodermic syringes, several glass smoking devices, THC wax, digital scales and other drug paraphernalia in the home's only bedroom, which investigators said contained belongings belonging to both Brown and Chambers.

During a search of LaPresto's Kia Sorento, investigators allegedly found an orange prescription bottle containing pills identified as hydrochlorothiazide, a legend drug, along with a digital scale and a 9 mm Bryco Arms handgun.

According to the affidavit, investigators conducted an INSPECT prescription database search and determined LaPresto did not have a valid prescription for the medication.

Brown faces charge of Level 6 felony possession of methamphetamine, Level 6 felony unlawful possession of a syringe, and Class C misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.

Chambers faces charges of Level 5 felony possession of methamphetamine, Level 5 felony possession of cocaine, Level 6 felony unlawful possession of a syringe and Class C misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.

LaPresto faces one charge of Level 6 felony unlawful possession or use of a legend drug.

The charges are allegations, and Brown, Chambers and LaPresto are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
