UPDATE: Tanner Haywood released from hospital, jailed in Clay County

Clay County - The suspect in the officer-involved shooting on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, in Clay County has been placed under arrest. Marion Tanner Joseph Haywood, 23, Owensburg, Indiana, was released from Regional Hospital in Terre Haute early Wednesday afternoon and was taken into custody by the Indiana State Police upon his release.

Tanner Haywood: Suspicious activity and pursuit results in officer-involved shooting incident in Clay County

A Greene County man wanted by the Linton Police Department for questioning in a burglary case, also wanted on a Monroe County warrant issued in a case of criminal confinement and battery with a deadly weapon, was the suspect transported to a hospital in an officer-involved shooting incident early this morning, around 3 a.m., in Clay County. In a recent request issued by LPD for information from the public about Haywood’s whereabouts, the LPD said Haywood should be considered “armed and dangerous.”

Police looking for armed and dangerous suspect, also wanted in Monroe County

The Linton Police Department has asked for help from the public to locate a suspect in a home burglary that’s considered to be “armed and dangerous.” But the LPD is not the only agency looking for 23-year-old Marion “Tanner” Haywood. A warrant for his arrest was issued earlier today in Monroe County where he’s accused of battery with a deadly weapon, strangulation and kidnapping.
