Clayton Duane Langley, 28, and Kristin Danielle Hart, 24, both of Bloomfield, were arrested on Thursday, July 25, by Sgt. Bobby Pierce of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department with Bloomfield Deputy Marshal Jordan Allor assisting on the scene of a traffic stop.
A white 1999 Dodge Ram was pulled over by Sgt. Pierce after Pierce recognized Langley as the driver and knew Langley’s license was suspended.
During the stop, when Langley was asked if he had any weapons and was asked to empty his pockets, one of the items Langley allegedly removed was a glass smoking device. Langley allegedly admitted he used the smoking device to smoke marijuana and said that he knew his license was suspended.
Hart was a passenger in the vehicle and was allegedly found to be in possession of a crushed pill that she admitted was suboxone which she did not have a prescription for. Suboxone is a Level III controlled substance.
Langley was booked in around 8:20 p.m., Hart around 8:43 p.m.
Langley’s bond was first set at $1,500 surety with ten percent cash allowed. When he appeared in Greene Superior Court for his initial hearing, he was charged with driving while suspended, a knowing violation with a prior conviction within 10 years, a Class A misdemeanor, and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor. He was then released on his own recognizance.
Hart was first held without bond pending her appearance in court. At her initial hearing, also in Greene Superior Court, her bond was set at $5,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed and she was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor. As of Monday evening, August 5, Hart had not yet posted bond and was still in the Greene County Jail.
A Worthington man, convicted on Wednesday of drunk driving, was sentenced to 90 days in the county jail but had an extra 30 days tacked on after the judge found him in contempt of court.
