Brandon Ray Frye, 32, Linton, was arrested by Officer Kyle Robison of the Linton Police Department early yesterday morning, Wednesday, February 27.

Officer Robison, the lead investigator, was dispatched at 2:42 a.m. yesterday to the Sunoco gas station in Linton after LPD dispatch got a call from a store employee who said there was an altercation at the store and a man named Brandon Frye had a gun.

When officers arrived, a woman said her boyfriend, Frye, had threatened her and her male friend and shattered the glass in the rear window of her van with a golf club. Officers located the bottom portion of a blue and black Mizuno golf club on the scene.

During later interviews with the girlfriend and the male friend, they both confirmed they had gone to the station to get gas then Frye pulled into the parking lot, pulled his car up to the front of her van, got out and started yelling at the girlfriend, then told the friend to get out of the van saying, “I’m going to shoot you.” The friend got out of the van, ran into the store and told the clerk to call the police and lock the door. The girlfriend said Frye then pulled the golf club out of his car and she thought he was going to hit her, but he shattered the rear window. The friend said he watched Frye smash the rear window with the golf club.

Officers located Frye at his residence a few blocks away. During an interview at the police department, Frye allegedly said he went to the station to talk to the girlfriend and got into a verbal altercation with her and her friend. He allegedly admitted he told the man to get out of the van then went and got the golf club. He said he was mad and struck the rear window then went back home.

Frye was booked into the Greene County Jail at 4:27 a.m. with bond set at $10,500 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He has posted $1,050 bond and been released.

Frye is scheduled to be in court on March 9 for an initial hearing on charges of:

  • Intimidation with a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony, and

  • Criminal mischief, a Class B misdemeanor.

Frye has another case pending against him.

Frye was arrested by LPD Officer John Agan last May following an investigation into a shooting incident.

Frye allegedly shot Jamie Lawrence Bradford, 42, Freetown, Ind., at Frye’s residence in Linton after Bradford allegedly slapped Frye in the face.

Frye was charged with:

  • Aggravated battery – assault poses a substantial risk of death, a Level 3 felony,

  • Battery by means of a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony, and

  • Pointing a firearm at another person, a Level 6 felony.

Frye has been out on bond as the case made its way through the system and it’s currently scheduled to go to trial by Jury in June.

However, earlier today, February 27, in the shooting case, a petition to revoke his bond was filed.
