SR 157 Eel River Bridge northwest of Worthington to close May 1 - September 15

State Road 157 Bridge over the Eel River will close Friday, May 1

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces the State Road 157 Bridge over the Eel River in Owen County will close on or after Friday, May 1. This is for a deck replacement.  The scheduled completion date is September 15.  The detour utilizes SR 59 and SR 48.

The bridge is located on SR 157 between County Road 900 North and Johnstown Road in Owen County, approximately four miles northwest of Worthington and north of SR 48.

White Construction was awarded this contract for $4.6 million.  This project also includes bridge deck overlays on the State Road 63 northbound bridge over Brouilletts Creek, south of Clinton in Vermillion County, on the U.S. 150 bridges over the Wabash River near Terre Haute in Vigo County and on the I-74 and State Road 63 ramps in Fountain County.

INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a construction zone.
