Saturday night crash in eastern Greene County injures multiple people

A Saturday night crash involving two vehicles in eastern Greene County sent three people to hospitals while two others declined treatment for less serious injuries. The Greene County Sheriff’s Department is asking for information from the public who might have information or might have witnessed the crash.

GCSD Deputy Camron Frye, the lead investigator, responded to the scene of the crash that occurred at 8:34 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at the intersection of State Road 45 and State Road 445 in eastern Greene County.

Deputy Frye reported Lesley Sipes, 43, was the driver of a 2014 Toyota Highlander southbound on SR 45 through the intersection when the crash occurred. Passengers included Ticen Houchin, 16, and Michael Sipes, 38.

Kyla Addison, 22, was the driver of a 2008 Dodge Avenger northbound on SR 445 through the intersection when the crash occurred. There was one passenger on board, Carissa Thompson, 17.

From the Highlander, Lesley Sipes, the driver, complained of rib and arm pain and was transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital by a family member. Ticen Houchin complained of chest and head pain and Michael Sipes complained of ankle pain but both passengers signed release forms to decline medical treatment.

From the Avenger, Kyla Addision, the driver, complained of chest pain and was transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital by the Greene County Ambulance Service. Carissa Robinson, the passenger, complained of severe pain to the left hip and was transported by Greene County Ambulance to IU Health Bloomington Hospital.

Deputy Frye said this crash is still under investigation. No additional details were released.
