A Bloomfield woman was arrested during a traffic stop on McVille Road. She was in court Tuesday and has been charged with methamphetamine possession.

Zepha Lynn Ferguson, 30, of rural Bloomfield, was arrested by Indiana State Police Trooper Caleb Garvin on Wednesday, July 22.

When Ferguson appeared in Greene Superior Court on Tuesday morning, July 28, for an initial hearing, her bond was set at $15,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. As of late Wednesday, she had not yet posted bond but she is also being held on a warrant issued out of another county for failure to appear.

Ferguson was the driver of a blue 1997 Toyota Camry that was stopped by ISP Sgt. Greg Day on McVille Road, just west of State Road 43, around noon on Wednesday, July 22. Sgt. Day reported Ferguson appeared to be trying to avoid him prior to the stop, and she had failed to properly signal a turn.

According to Trooper Garvin, the investigating officer, when Ferguson was asked to exit the vehicle, the trooper saw a smoking pipe and a small plastic baggy on the seat when Ferguson stood up. She allegedly said, “It’s just spice.”

During a search of the vehicle, troopers allegedly found another smoking device with residue that appeared to be methamphetamine and a pipe used to smoke methamphetamine.

Ferguson allegedly admitted to possessing spice (synthetic marijuana) and a methamphetamine pipe and she admitted she smoked meth earlier.

Ferguson was booked into the Greene County Jail at 1:17 p.m.

She has been charged with possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.
