When a Linton man wanted on a warrant was spotted by an LPD officer, the man took off running. The officer gave chase and after jumping a fence, apprehended the suspect.

Travis Allen Flowers, 28, Linton, was apprehended by Officer Adam King of the Linton Police Department on Thursday, June 11. After LPD Officers John Agan and Janzen Franklin arrived to assist, Flowers was transported to the Greene County Jail by Officer Franklin.

Around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, Officer King, the investigating officer, saw Flowers walking in Linton at 5th Street and I Street NW and knew there was a warrant out for the arrest of Flowers. He pulled over.

Officer King said he asked Flowers to come to the patrol vehicle to talk to him but after the second request, Flowers said he was not going back to jail and he started to run in the direction of H Street NW.

Officer King got back in his vehicle and while driving, saw Flowers running into a back yard on H Street NW. The officer pulled into a driveway and was getting out of his vehicle when he saw Flowers head back toward 5th Street NW.

Officer King pursued on foot. He had to jump a fence at one point but Flowers was apprehended.

Flowers was booked in to the Greene County Jail before 8:30 p.m.

Flowers was wanted on a warrant issued for failure to appear at a hearing in a case involving a petition to revoke a suspended sentence on a conviction of unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, a Class B felony.

On Tuesday of this week, Flowers appeared in a hearing in Greene Circuit Court and his bond was set at $10,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He has now posted bond and been released from jail. He is scheduled to be back in court for an evidentiary hearing in late July in Greene Circuit.

He’s also scheduled to appear at another hearing on the same day, this one in Greene Superior Court, as a result of fleeing from Officer King.

In the newest case, he’s facing a preliminary charge of resisting law enforcement – knowingly or intentionally forcibly resists, a Class A misdemeanor.
