Treasurer's Office Donation Drive to benefit families across Greene County
As a way to help the communities they serve, the Greene County Treasurer's Office is currently accepting donations of various items, which will then be donated throughout the county.
“Our office wants to help our communities any way we can. The timing just felt right for us to do the donation drive,” said Greene County Treasurer Samantha Mahan. “It is important for us to give back to our communities, especially with prices going up everywhere, colder weather setting in, and the holiday season approaching fast, we are hoping to ease some of the difficulties by collecting items we can donate to local places that put their time, energy, and hearts into weekly.”
Non-perishable food items, cleaning supplies, and toiletries are now being accepted for the drive. Drop-off locations include:
Greene County Courthouse
Sami’s Place
Linton Police Department
Jasonville Police Department
Worthington First Financial Bank
“We are hoping with multiple drop-off locations we can collect more items, which will give us the ability to distribute to more places,” Mahan said.
Donations are being accepted now until Nov. 18.
Mahan said the items will be distributed throughout the county to locations such as food pantries, churches, and the veteran’s office.
