Property Tax Season Approaches: Payments Due May 12

Property tax season is quickly approaching, with tax statements scheduled to be mailed on April 14. Spring installment payments are due by May 12.

Greene County Treasurer Samantha Mahan said there are multiple options for residents to pay both spring and fall installments, which are due May 12 and Nov. 10, respectively.

Several local financial institutions will accept spring payments if property owners present a current tax coupon. Payments will be accepted starting two weeks prior to the May 12 deadline at the following locations:

  • Farmers and Mechanics Federal branches in Bloomfield, Bloomington and Eastern Greene

  • First Financial Bank in Worthington

  • Owen County State Bank in Linton

Payments may also be made at the Greene County Treasurer’s Office, located on the first floor of the Greene County Courthouse in Bloomfield. A secure drop box is available outside the courthouse until 4 p.m. on May 12. Payments placed in the drop box after 4 p.m. will be considered late.

Online payments can be made at co.greene.in.us or by calling 812-648-9166 for automated phone payments. Both online and phone options will close at 4 p.m. on May 12 and will be unavailable for two weeks thereafter.

Payments may also be mailed to:

Bloomfield, IN 47424

Mailed payments must be postmarked by May 12 to be considered on time. Postmarks after that date will result in a late payment designation.
