Pimento man arrested on sexual battery charge
A 64-year-old Pimento man was arrested Sept. 11 on a warrant for sexual battery after allegedly inappropriately touching a female at a Greene County establishment on Aug. 19.
Steven Eugene Fullom was arrested on a warrant for sexual battery, a Level 6 Felony, after a warrant for his arrest was filed in Greene Superior Court on Sept. 7.
According to a probable cause affidavit written by Greene County Sheriff’s Department Det. David Elmore, during a Sept. 23 interview, a female alleged Fullom inappropriately touched her. While on the dance floor at the establishment, she alleged Fullom began grabbing her, attempting to dance with her. During this time, she said a female friend came over to intervene and inform her Fullom was known to be “handsy” with females.
The female told Elmore later in the evening she was outside talking when Fullom came up behind her and bear-hugged her. According to the probable cause, she said he unwantedly grabbed and massaged her breast. The victim could not break away due to Fullom’s size and hold on her until a witness intervened.
Det. Elmore acquired security video footage which, according to the probable cause affidavit, showed Fullom touching the victim while the victim attempted to deflect his advances.
Det. Elmore spoke with Fullom via phone on Sept. 29. According to the probable cause affidavit, Fullom had a meeting with his attorney later that evening, but explained he did not remember what happened due to his level of intoxication.
Fullom was arrested on Sept. 11 and taken to Greene County Jail where his bond was set at $4,000 surety with 10% cash allowed. He was released after posting $400.
