One woman arrested after bar fight
One woman was arrested after an off-duty police officer and several other witnesses all said she was the aggressor in a physical fight with another woman.
Amber Julia Keller, 28, Farmersburg, was arrested by Officer Janzen Franklin of the Linton Police Department. She was booked into the Greene County Jail at 12:31 AM on Saturday, August 6, following an incident that occurred late Friday, August 5.
Officer Franklin and other LPD officers were dispatched to the Vault bar in Linton when the LPD got a report about a fight between two women. An off-duty officer who was present during the altercation said Keller was the aggressor and when he saw the fight and he went outside, Keller was on top of the other woman and he pulled the two apart.
Officer Franklin also talked to at least three other witnesses who also said Keller went up to the other woman, swung at her and grabbed her hair then swung the woman to the ground.
The alleged victim said she ducked when Keller threw the punch so it hit her on the top of her head and then Keller had her down on the ground in a headlock.
Officer Franklin reported the woman had multiple contusions on her arms and legs and hair had been pulled from her head.
Keller allegedly said the other woman was talking shit so she tried to smack her and that the other woman had grabbed her by the hair first so she hit her.
Keller was arrested and transported to the Greene County Jail but on the way there, she allegedly told Officer Franklin that she was going to hit him the next time she saw him.
Keller's bond was set at $4500 surety with 10% cash allowed. She posted $450 and was released later the same day.
Keller is being charged with:
Battery resulting in bodily injury, a Class A misdemeanor, and
Intimidation, a Level 6 felony.
