Officers, deputies, firefighters and rescue personnel from every corner of the county showed their thanks to our county’s health care workers on Tuesday evening with a surprise parade of vehicles that traveled to Greene County General Hospital and Glenburn Home.

The Linton Police Department posted on their Facebook page, “The Linton Police Department and Linton Fire Department are proud to be able to participate in a parade this evening at Greene County General Hospital and Glenburn Nursing Home to show our unwavering support for all of the medical workers in this time of crisis. We wish we could show the support to every single medical provider on every single shift. The parade included virtually every police, fire, and rescue service from Greene County. A huge shoutout to Bloomfield Deputy Town Marshal Lt. Marvin Holt for orchestrating and leading this event.”

On Wednesday, LPD Chief Paul Clark confirmed that the parade of thanks was organized by Lt. Marvin Holt of the Bloomfield Police Department. Clark said the event was not promoted to the public ahead of time because the point was not to make a show for the public. He said the parade was for health care workers - to let them know they are appreciated.

Tonight BPD and virtually every Police Department, Fire Department, Rescue unit & Ambulance service in Greene County joined together in a ‘tribute’ at Greene County General Hospital and Glenburn Nursing Home as a Thank you to each and every health care worker taking care of all of us in this current pandemic crisis. We wish we could thank each one of you personally. You are the heart of emergency services, Thank you.”
