A 27-year-old man, Tyler Heinich, is missing after he walked away from his home in eastern Greene County and law enforcement officers, rescue and fire personnel are actively looking for him.

Personnel from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, the Indiana State Police, and the Center Township Fire Department have all responded.

GCSD Deputy Jordan Allor, the lead investigator, said officers are attempting to check on Heinich’s welfare.

“Mr. Heinich left his residence near the intersection of East State Road 54 and Raines Road in eastern Greene County traveling northeast into a wooded area,” said Deputy Allor. “Mr. Heinich is believed to be in possession of a steak knife.”

Deputy Allor reported Heinich was last seen wearing black shorts, red Nike shoes and a blue shirt. He is 5’ 6” tall, weighs approximately 125 lbs. and has brown eyes and short brown hair.
