Men from Jasonville and Sullivan arrested for meth during traffic stop
/A traffic stop after crossing the centerline on July 2 resulted in the arrest of two for possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.
Officer Janzen Franklin of the Linton Police Department initiated a traffic stop after a vehicle crossed the centerline on State Road 54 near 10th Street Northeast. The blue Chevy Cavalier was registered to Danny Scott, 60, of Sullivan, with Joshua Hollifield, 39, of Jasonville, as a passenger.
Officer Franklin asked for and was given consent to search the vehicle. The search yielded one clear glass smoking device containing white residue that field tested positive for methamphetamine and one yellow baggie containing white residue. The items were located in a cloth black bag in the middle console of the vehicle.
Both Scott and Hollifield denied the smoking device belonged to them.
Scott was charged with: Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 6 Felony and Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class A Misdemeanor. Hollifield was also charged with: Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 6 Felony and Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class A Misdemeanor.
Both were held without bond until their initial appearances in court.
Scott appeared in Greene Superior Court July 11 and bond was set at $4,000 surety with 10% allowed. He was released July 12 after posting a $400 bond.
Hollifield appeared in Greene Superior Court July 11 and bond was set at $4,000 surety with 10% allowed. He was released July 12 after posting a $400 bond.
