There’s a warrant out for a man convicted in July of methamphetamine possession, to revoke his sentence that was suspended. But now he’s facing a new charge for allegedly bilking a customer out of over $2ooo cash.

Jeremy Christopher Hall, 35, Springville, is accused of accepting $2,350 cash as a down payment on a construction job that was not completed.

This situation has been under investigation by Detective James O’Malley of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department after a property owner reported an incident of fraud.

According to O’Malley, the property owner said he signed a construction contract in November of 2017 with Hall of H&W Construction to do a job on East Olive Branch Road, excavating and leveling a site then constructing a 40 x 40 x 4 concrete pad with three footers. The total price of the contract was $4700 with half to be paid up front and the balance upon completion.

The man provided a copy of the contract, a withdrawal receipt from his bank and said he paid $2350 cash to Hall. He said Hall came to the property and spent about an hour moving some dirt but never returned to complete the work and he’d been unable to contact Hall.

O’Malley reported several attempts were made to locate and contact Hall with no success, but he did talk to a family member who said he knew Hall had contracted to do the job but had not completed it. They also said Hall had been staying “here and there” and they hadn’t seen him since the last time he was arrested – in March of 2018.

After a criminal case was filed against Hall last week, for a preliminary charge of home improvement fraud with a contract price of $1,000 or more, a Class A misdemeanor, a summons was issued ordering Hall to appear in court for an initial hearing on November 19.

However, there’s a warrant out for Hall’s arrest in another case.

Hall was arrested by GCSD Deputy Davis Aerne in March of 2018 then charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of a syringe and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia. After a negotiated plea agreement was reached, Hall was convicted in May of possession of methamphetamine, the Level 6 felony.

Hall was sentenced to two years in the county jail but he was given credit for 66 days served and the remainder, one year and 215 days, was suspended.

He was on probation in early July, when the Greene County Probation Department filed a petition to revoke the suspended sentence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

As of mid-day Monday, Hall was not yet in custody.
