A man on probation is accused of trying to fake a drug and alcohol screen. A probation officer said he had a bottle of yellow liquid tucked in his waistband.

Brady Lee Jerrell, 25, Linton was arrested by Det. Shawn Cullison of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday morning, October 29.

Det. Cullison arrived in the Probation Department at the Greene County Courthouse around 10:30 that morning to talk to Probation Officer Kevin Headley who told him Brady Jerrell had attempted to interfere with a drug screen to test for the presence of drugs or alcohol.

Officer Headley showed Det. Cullison a small plastic bottle, which contained a yellow liquid, with a small plastic tube attached to it. Headley explained that after Jerrell arrived at the office, he (Headley) conducted a pat down and found the bottle placed in the waist band of Jerrell’s underwear.

According to Det. Cullison, when he walked into the room where Jerrell was sitting, and showed him the bottle, asking what the deal was, Jerrell said, in so many words, that he had messed up. Officer Headley asked if he was trying to hide meth and Jerrell allegedly said yes.

When Jerrell was booked into jail, his bond was set at $500 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He posted $50, was released and is scheduled to appear in court for an initial hearing next Monday, November 4, to be charged with interfering with a drug or alcohol screening test, a Class B misdemeanor.

Jerrell was on probation following a conviction last March for theft where the value of the property was between $750 and $50,000, a Level 6 felony. He served some time in jail and got two years suspended. Yesterday, on Thursday, October 31, a petition was filed to revoke his suspended sentence.
