Man living in Solsberry area facing drug charges

When GCSD responded to a residence in the Solsberry area last week, they saw an item of paraphernalia associated with meth use and found more during a search.

Timothy Dale Patton

Timothy Dale Patton, 60, Heltonville, was arrested by Detective David Elmore of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department last Wednesday, August 11.

Det. Elmore was on scene early last Wednesday morning at a residence on Richland Lane, Solsberry, to assist GCSD Deputy David Aerne and Deputy Harvey Holt who were investigating a report of trespassing.

While there, Deputy Aerne pointed out a broken glass smoking device on the kitchen island. After the two deputies left with one person in custody, Det. Elmore obtained consent to search the residence from Timothy Patton who was residing there.

Det. Elmore reported finding items of paraphernalia including glass smoking devices, baggies and cut-down straws. Several of the items field-tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine.

Patton was taken into custody and booked into the Greene County Jail at 11 a.m.

During his initial hearing in Greene Superior Court last Friday, he was charged with:

  • Possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony,

  • Maintaining a common nuisance – controlled substances, a Level 6 felony, and

  • Possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.

Patton’s bond was set at $10,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. As of late today/Tuesday, August 17, he has not yet posted bond and is still in custody.
