Lyons woman accused of meth possession

After parking in a roadway and attracting the attention of deputies, a Lyons woman with a suspended license was arrested on a preliminary felony charge of possession of methamphetamine.

Tammy Michelle Sullivan

Tammy Michelle Sullivan, 49, of Lyons, was arrested by Deputy Alan Jackson of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department following a traffic stop late last Friday, May 15.

Deputy Jackson, the investigating officer, said Sgt. Pierce saw a tan Buick passenger car parked in the roadway on Mulberry Street in Lyons and when he checked the plate, he found it belonged to a black Infiniti registered to Sullivan. He also found out Sullivan’s driver’s license was suspended.

Sgt. Pierce informed Deputy Jackson and when Jackson was at the local gas station in Lyons around 11:15 p.m., he saw the tan Buick come to a stop at Wine and State Road 67, then turn eastbound on the highway. He initiated a traffic stop.

Sullivan was the driver. In addition to the license plate issue and a suspended license, Deputy Jackson said she did not have insurance. The vehicle was going to be towed, Sgt. Pierce arrived on the scene, and the deputies inventoried the vehicle prior to towing.

Deputy Jackson reported they found smoking devices with white crystal residue and a small baggie containing a white crystal substance – these items field-tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine.

Sullivan was booked into the Greene County Jail at 12:22 a.m. She was being held without bond pending her appearance in court.

Sullivan is scheduled to appear in Greene Superior Court next Tuesday when she will be formally charged with possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.
