LPD Chief confirms officer placed on administrative leave with pay

Police Chief Paul Clark of the Linton Police Department has confirmed that Officer Debbie McDonald has been placed on administrative leave with pay.

This didn’t just happen today - the action was taken early last week.

Although no details about the reason for this action have been officially released by Chief Clark, GreeneStreets has been attempting to obtain official confirmation of the nature of the issue for over a week. GreeneStreets was hoping to provide clarity on the reason for the action at the same time the action was confirmed.

Officer McDonald, who serves as a patrol officer, was placed on the leave pursuant to departmental policy and state law. Both departmental policy and state law have provisions that require a hearing before the City’s Board of Public Safety before someone is placed on unpaid leave. There is no information available about the time when that hearing would take place.

GreeneStreets will post an update when a confirmation about the reason for the leave is received from an official source on-the-record.
