Linton woman accused of battery
/Police were dispatched to a Linton bar late last Friday night after a Linton woman allegedly hit another woman in the head.
Shaunacee Brooke Shrader, 38, Linton, was arrested by Officer Adam King of the Linton Police Department following an incident that occurred late last Friday night, June 26. Shrader was booked in to the Greene County Jail at 12:05 a.m. Saturday, June 27.
Late last Friday, LPD officers were dispatched to the Palace Bar on West Vincennes Street in Linton for a fight. Officer King reported that when he arrived, Shrader and two men were getting into an SUV in the parking lot but Shrader got out of the vehicle saying, “I did it!”
Inside the bar, Officer King found a woman who was bleeding from her head. She said she was attacked. The Greene County Ambulance Service also responded to treat the woman’s injuries on the scene. No additional information regarding her injuries has been released.
The two men who were with Shrader left, and Shrader allegedly volunteered to go inside so the victim could identify her. After she was read Miranda rights, Shrader allegedly admitted she hit the woman after being in a verbal argument.
Shrader was transported to the police department for an interview but when she said she wanted an attorney, the interview was stopped and she was taken to jail.
When she was booked in to jail, Shrader’s bond was set at $1,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. She posted $100 and was released.
Shrader is scheduled to appear in Greene Superior Court on July 23 for an initial hearing on a preliminary charge of battery resulting in bodily injury, a Class A misdemeanor.
