Linton man with criminal cases pending in four counties is facing another one
A Linton man who already had criminal cases pending against him in at least four counties is facing another one following his arrest on Linton on the Monday before Christmas. Charges include possession of meth and syringes, driving while suspended, carrying a handgun without a license and false informing.
Armando Andrew Kresmery, 24, Linton, was arrested by Officer Adam King of the Linton Police Department early Monday, December 23.
Officer King, the investigating officer, and LPD Officer Kent Medlock initiated a traffic stop around 12:37 a.m. that Monday on a vehicle with a license plate light that wasn’t working. The white Nissan Pathfinder was pulled over on 4th Street NW in Linton.
Armando Kresmery was identified as the driver but when Officer King asked for his license and registration, Kresmery allegedly said he left it at home but his name was Josh Bolin. That didn’t work - Officer King said he knew who that was and told Kresmery to step out of the vehicle. Officer Medlock was then able to identify Kresmery.
A records check revealed Kresmery’s license was suspended and he had outstanding warrants so Kresmery was taken into custody.
LPD Officer Joe Riley and his K9 partner Kona had also arrived to assist on the scene and during a sniff around the vehicle, Kona alerted to the presence of a controlled substance.
Officer King reported that during a search of the vehicle, officers located three black powder rifles in the rear cargo area, a semi-automatic 40-caliber pistol with four rounds in the magazine near the center console, three digital scales with white crystal-like powder residue that field-tested positive as methamphetamine, two spoons which also tested positive for the presence of meth, two containers with three different types of pills – controlled substances, and a bag with 13 syringes and a cut straw.
A male passenger riding with Kresmery was not arrested.
Kresmery was booked into the Greene County Jail around 2:30 a.m. He’s being held without bond.
Court records show Kresmery currently has cases pending against him in Greene, Sullivan, Clay and Vigo counties.
In this new case, Kresmery is scheduled to appear in Greene Superior Court on Thursday afternoon to face charges of:
Possession of methamphetamine, a Level 5 felony,
Unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony,
Carrying a handgun without a license, a Class A misdemeanor,
Driving while suspended, an infraction, and
False informing, a Class A misdemeanor.
