Linton man charged with OVWI following crash last Wednesday morning

A Linton man was arrested for OVWI after a deputy responded to a mid-morning crash involving one vehicle last week. No injury was reported.

Aaron Isaac Fisher Hall, 19, Linton, was arrested by Deputy James Carpenter of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday morning, July 21.

Hall was the driver of a silver 2005 Hyundai Elantra that crashed around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 21.

The crash occurred on County Road 50 South at CR 1500 West.

When Deputy Carpenter arrived on the scene, Hall was sitting in the driver’s seat with the vehicle still running. No injury was reported but Deputy Carpenter reported he detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Hall, he could see alcoholic beverage containers in view, and Hall showed signs of intoxication including slurred speech and unsteady balance.

Hall failed field sobriety tests. A chemical test administered at the Linton Police Department showed he had a BAC of .103. The legal limit is .08.

Hall was booked into the Greene County Jail at 10:47 a.m. with bond set at $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He has since posted $400 and been released.

Hall is facing charges of:

  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor,

  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor,

  • Operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to at least .08 but less than .15, a Class C misdemeanor.
