Linton man accused of threatening to shoot another person
Last Thursday, a warrant was issued for the arrest of a rural Linton man accused of threatening to shoot another person.
Otho Melvin Waggoner III, 58, Linton, is wanted on a charge of intimidation - threat to commit a forcible felony, a Level 6 felony, following an investigation by Indiana State Police Trooper Eric Nash.
During his investigation, the alleged victim told Trooper Nash that on July 15, Waggoner had been ranting about not being able to figure out or get the information he needed off his new cell phone. During this rant, Waggoner was allegedly cursing and throwing a fit and at times, he was smacking himself on his forehead.
Waggoner allegedly said that someone must have gotten into his cell phone and messed with it and then he allegedly said to the victim, “I am going to shoot,” then hesitated, then said, “I will shoot you.”
When the victim said you're going to shoot me? Waggoner indicated that would help.
Trooper Nash reported that as part of his investigation, he had secured recordings that captured this threat and other threats made by Waggoner.
A criminal case was filed against Waggoner last Thursday and the warrant for his arrest was issued the same day.
