Linton man accused of strangulation, intimidation and battery in domestic incident
A 46-year-old Linton man was arrested on counts of strangulation, intimidation, and domestic battery on May 20.
Linton Police Department Detective Logan Hobbs and Officer Cayden Walker were dispatched to a residence regarding a battery. When arriving at the residence, Hobbs recognized an individual as Bradley Sparks. Hobbs asked Sparks to step outside; Sparks refused and shut the door. Then after learning from dispatch that the victim was at another residence, the officer went to that residence to speak with the victim.
The victim, who had visible bruises on her arms and neck, told the officers Sparks had battered her. Based on that information, according to the probable cause affidavit, Officer Walker placed Sparks under arrest and transported him to the Greene County Jail. Sparks declined to make a statement regarding the incident.
During an interview at the police department, the victim stated that Sparks began battering her on May 18 and continued through the night into the morning of May 19. She said Sparks hit her and choked her leaving redness and pain in her throat.
The victim stated that she was able to leave the residence when a friend came to pick her up on the afternoon of May 19. She returned the next day to gather more belongings. Upon arriving, she said Sparks began punching, smacking, choking, and threatening her at that time.
Sparks was arrested on charges of:
Strangulation, a Level 6 Felony
Intimidation: Threat to commit a forcible felony, a Level 6 Felony
Domestic Battery, a Level A Misdemeanor
His bond was set at $9,000 surety with 10% cash allowed.
