A Linton man, accused of hitting a Harley Davidson motorcycle with a stick, was arrested and is facing a charge of criminal mischief.

Nathan Warren Parsley, 26, Linton, was arrested last Saturday afternoon, March 23, by Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy James Carpenter.

Carpenter investigated after a woman reported Parsley had taken things out of her bedroom and damaged her 2006 Harley Davidson.

When Deputy Carpenter spoke to the woman, Parsley’s mother, she told him Parsley had been asleep in her bed and would not wake up so she could get ready for an event. After she raised her voice and he did wake up, she said he slammed the door as he went outside then hit her Harley with a stick causing a dent in the tank. She also said she sat Parsley’s safe outside the door.

When the deputy talked to Parsley, he said he was sleeping when she came home yelling at him to get up so she could get dressed. After he sat up, he said she continued to yell so he went outside. He said she threw his safe and caused a dent and he then took the stick and hit the motorcycle.

Carpenter reported the safe had a dent but the woman said it had been there previously and he could find no dirt or debris on the safe.

Parsley was taken into custody and transported to the Greene County Jail where his bond was set at $500 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He posted $50 cash and was released later the same day.

Parsley is scheduled to appear in Greene Superior Court for his initial hearing on April 8 when he will be formally charged with criminal mischief, a Class B misdemeanor.
