Linton Clerk-Treasurer Jathan Wright resigns office, effective February 25

Jathan Wright, who serves as the Clerk-Treasurer for the City of Linton, issued a letter to the citizens of Linton on Friday morning, January 28, announcing his intention to resign from his position effective February 25.

Letter issued by Jathan Wright early Friday, January 28, 2022:

Dear Residents of Linton,

This letter shall serve as my formal resignation from the Office of the Clerk-Treasurer of the City of Linton, effective on February 25, 2022.

The decision to leave this office has been a very difficult one for me. I was not looking for a change but was approached with a new opportunity.

As a Husband and Father, I must ensure that I make the best decision for my family. I believe this decision will increase my job stability, benefit my family financially, while still allowing me to continue to be an active member in our community.

When I was elected, I committed to several goals for the city, and together with an amazing staff, we have accomplished most of the goals that were set in my campaign. I am proud of the positive impact I have made upon the future viability of our city. I will work with my staff and city personnel to come up with a transition plan that makes for the smoothest possible transfer of responsibility to the new Clerk-Treasurer.

I would like to thank the people of Linton for allowing me to serve the community I love as Clerk-Treasurer the past six years, and I look forward to what the future holds for our community.

Thank you,
Jathan Wright
Clerk-Treasurer, City of Linton

Wright later confirmed that he will be remaining in the community and will continue his active role with the Chamber Board and the Linton Freedom Festival.
