A 24-year-old Jasonville woman is being held in Greene County Jail on a $25,000 bond following a Jan. 10 drug-related arrest after a probation search. 

Jasonville Police Department Officer Andrew Duguay arrested Hanna Marie Murley on Jan. 10 on charges of possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a syringe, and possession of a syringe following a probation search of her residence. According to a probable cause affidavit written by Jasonville Police Department Chief Ryan Van Horn, Murley also had an active warrant for possession of methamphetamine. 

Chief Van Horn, Duguay, Jasonville Police Department Officer Skylar Scott, Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Detective Caleb Garvin, and an investigator from the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office were on the scene of Murley’s North Meridian Street residence and attempted to make contact, but she refused to come to the door. Det. Garvin observed the front door of the residence ajar, while Van Horn saw an individual look out a window from inside the apartment. Officers knocked on the door again with no answer. 

According t0 the probable cause affidavit, due to the felony arrest warrant for Murley, officers made entry to the residence and announced their presence. Murley was located exiting a back bedroom of the apartment. 

In plain sight in the residence, according to the probable cause affidavit, was a bottle that had been converted to a water bong. The bong had a glass pipe attached to a clear straw that went into the bottle and was submerged in liquid. White residue, which later field-tested positive for methamphetamine, was visible on the pipe and straw.

During a search of the residence, per the probable cause, officers located a used syringe in a trash can. 

Murley was transported to Greene County Jail where she was held without bond until her initial hearing on Jan. 16. At that time, her bond was set at $25,000 surety only with no 10% cash allowed. 

She faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 Felony; unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 Felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C Misdemeanor.
