Jasonville man on probation arrested on drug charge
/A Jasonville man on probation was arrested when a JPD officer checked on him and reported finding meth and paraphernalia in the man’s residence during a probation search.
Bryan Eugene Coffman, 33, Jasonville, was arrested by Officer Skylar Scott of the Jasonville Police Department last Thursday, February 17.
Coffman was on probation when his probation officer asked Officer Scott to do a check and search on Coffman. The probation officer said Coffman had recently been fired from his job and he failed to go to a class that’s required for his probation.
Officer Scott reported Coffman was cooperative but during the search, he found a folded piece of aluminum foil with burnt residue on the back of the toilet and a small clear bag with a white powdery substance in the medicine cabinet. Then he found another small clear bag with a crystal substance behind a picture frame – the substance field-tested positive as methamphetamine.
When asked if there were any other illegal items in the house, Coffman allegedly said there was a blue smoking device in the bathroom – Officer Scott found it in a trash can.
Coffman was arrested and booked into the Greene County Jail where he was being held without bond. As of late Thursday, Coffman was still in custody.
Now he has a new criminal case pending against him - he’s been charged with possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.
