Jasonville man arrested on drug charges
While conducting a probation search at a Jasonville residence on Jan. 10, a 43-year-old Jasonville man at the residence was arrested on drug charges.
Jasonville Police Department Chief Ryan Van Horn arrested Michael Paul Kefauver on a charge of possession of methamphetamine.
During a probation check for another person at the residence, officers observed Kefauver exit a bedroom. He was taken outside of the residence by officers.
According to the probable cause affidavit written by Chief Van Horn, officers searched Kefauver and located two glass smoking devices with residue, and a small plastic baggie with a crystal-like white substance inside. The substance, which weighed 1.4 grams including the weight of the bag, later field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Officers also searched Kefauver’s phone, according to the probable cause affidavit. His phone contained conversations in coded language related to the sale and purchase of controlled substances.
Kefauver was transported to the Greene County Jail where he was held without bond until his initial hearing on Jan. 16. At that time, a bond of $10,000 surety with 10% cash was allowed.
