Jasonville driver arrested Tuesday is facing drug charges

A Jasonville woman accused of running a stop sign on Tuesday was stopped and ended up in jail after a K9 alerted to the presence of a controlled substance in her vehicle.

Tasha Ann Goodman

Tasha Ann Goodman, 33, Jasonville, was arrested by Officer Jacob Gambill of the Jasonville Police Department on Tuesday afternoon, February 2.

Officer Gambill initiated a traffic stop on a maroon 2000 Ford Mustang on Tuesday after he saw the vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign at the corner of Lawton and Cook streets in Jasonville.

Goodman was the driver. She provided her identification and registration and while Officer Gambill was working on the business of the stop, JPD Officer Andrew Duguay and his K9 partner Blitz arrived on the scene.

Officer Duguay deployed K9 Blitz to do a free air sniff around the vehicle and Blitz alerted to the presence of a controlled substance.

Officer Gambill reported that during a search of the vehicle, Officer Duguay located a glass smoking pipe with a white residue in the back seat area that field-tested positive for methamphetamine, another glass smoking pipe with residue in the glove box, and a burnt hand-rolled cigarette containing a green leafy material that field-tested positive as marijuana.

Goodman declined to talk to the officer about the items and was transported to the Greene County Jail where she was booked in at 3:43 p.m. She was being held without bond pending court appearance.

The date has not been set but when she appears for an initial hearing in Greene Superior Court, she will be formally charged with:

  • Possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony,

  • Possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor, and

  • Possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.
