I-69 driver tracked at 103 mph

A driver headed north on I-69 is being summoned into court after a trooper reported she was going well in excess of the 70 mph speed limit.

Megan Nichole Herald, 31, Bloomfield, is facing a charge of reckless driving at an unreasonable high speed, a Class C misdemeanor.

Indiana State Police Master Trooper John Yung was on routine patrol late Saturday morning, April 20, when he saw Herald’s northbound vehicle northeast of the 84 mile marker.

Trooper Yung reported Herald was operating a green 2002 Toyota Corolla and was traveling in the left lane, passing other vehicles. He said he tracked the vehicle’s speed at 103 mph.

Herald was pulled over and when she talked to the trooper, she allegedly said she wasn’t paying attention.

Herald is being summoned to appear in Greene Superior Court in June for an initial hearing.
