UPDATE: Court orders Hit-and-Run suspect held without bond pending appearance in court
UPDATE: When a criminal case was filed in Greene Circuit Court on Wednesday, April 17, Judge Erik Allen ordered Schubla to be held without bond pending his appearance in court for an initial hearing.
The Linton man accused of driving the truck that struck a pedestrian then leaving the scene in Jasonville Monday night has been booked in to the Greene County Jail. The suspect’s bond has been initially set at $10,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed – meaning he could bond out and be released by posting $1,000 cash.
Billy Robert Schubla, 66, Linton, is the suspect. He was arrested Tuesday evening, April 16, by Officer Ryan Van Horn of the Jasonville Police Department.
Schubla was booked in on a preliminary charge of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in personal injury and death, a Level 5 felony.
As of 11 a.m. today - Wednesday morning, Schubla had not yet posted bond and remained in the Greene County Jail.
Once the information gathered during the JPD investigation is submitted to the prosecutor’s office, prosecutors will make the charging decision and the preliminary charge could change, and he could possibly face additional charges.
