Greene County Election Results
With 67 percent of Greene County’s registered voters casting a ballot, the polls have closed, the last ballots counted, and results of the 2024 General Election in Greene County are in.
There were few contested races in this fall’s election. One of those was the race for the County Commissioner Dist. 2 seat between incumbent Nathan L. Abrams, a Republican, and Democrat Steve C. Lindsey. Abrams landed on top with 10,057 votes versus Lindsey’s 3,895 votes. Abrams tallied 72 percent of the votes.
For County Council At-Large, four were vying for three positions. Those campaigning for the three open seats were Republicans Karen S. Abrams, Jerry R. Frye, and Bryan K. Woodall, and Democrat Terry. L. Koons. The three Republicans came out on top with Woodall receiving 7,844 votes. Abrams tallied 7,484 votes, while Frye received 6,803. Terry L. Koons received 3,875 votes.
The final contested races of the General Election were Dist. 1 and Dist. 5 School Board positions at White River Valley. In Dist. 1, Jason R. Chestnut faced Miranda R. Hostetter, while in Dist. 5., Andrew H. Davis faced Brian Dimbath. In Dist. 1, Hostetter received 198 votes, while Chestnut tallied 184 votes. In Dist. 5, Davis tallied 219 votes, while 176 were received by Dimbath.
