Goat blamed for crash with serious injury to juvenile; Goat owner in legal trouble
A summons to appear in Greene Superior Court has been issued to a Lyons woman after allegedly allowing an animal, a goat in particular, to run at large in July.
On Oct 28, a summons to appear in Greene Superior Court on Dec. 12 was issued to Amanda Fagg following an incident on July 8 in which one of her goats was running free.
The goat was struck by a juvenile driving an off road vehicle at 6582 South County Road 800 West. The accident resulted in serious injuries and multiple days stay in the hospital for the juvenile. The goat was dead at the scene.
When Indiana Conservation Officer Kaley McDonald spoke to Fagg, she said the goat is always free range. She told Officer McDonald it was never penned or put on a leash but normally stayed in her backyard.
When Fagg appears in court for her initial hearing on Dec. 12, she will be officially charged with allowing an animal to run at large, a Class B Misdemeanor.
