GCSD investigating Thursday night crash, requesting info from the public

Late Thursday night in the Hobbieville area, the driver of a silver Cadillac SUV hit another vehicle causing heavy damage to both vehicles. The driver left the scene and the Greene County Sheriff’s Department is asking for assistance from the public to locate the driver and vehicle.

GCSD Deputy Camron Frye responded to the crash on East State Road 54 in the Hobbieville area of Greene County Thursday night, March 4. The crash occurred between 10:30 and 10:45 p.m.

The investigation into the driver leaving the scene is being led by Deputy Frye who said the unknown driver of a silver Cadillac SUV hit another vehicle, causing extensive property damage, then left the scene without reporting the crash or giving information.

“The Greene County Sheriff’s Department is requesting the public’s help in identifying the vehicle and the driver,” said Deputy Frye. “The Cadillac SUV sustained heavy front end damage. Anyone with information pertaining to this incident or the identity of the driver and/or the vehicle, is asked to contact the Greene County Sheriff’s Department at 812-384-4411.”
