Friday night head-on crash results in one fatality, three others injured
A head-on crash in eastern Greene County Friday night claimed one life and sent three others to the hospital.
The crash occurred at approximately 9:23 p.m. Friday, May 18, on State Road 45 at Carmichael Road.
According to information released early Saturday morning from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, the head-on collision involved two vehicles that were traveling in opposite directions.
As of 5 a.m. Saturday, the crash was still under investigation and few details were released, but GCSD reported the crash resulted in one fatality. Three other individuals were transported by ambulances to IU Health hospital in Bloomington – conditions unknown.
No names or further details about the crash have been released at time of this post.
Investigating officers include Deputy Alan Jackson, Deputy David Elmore and Detective Shawn Cullison, all from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, and Trooper Eric Russell from the Indiana State Police.
In addition to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, first responders, officers and investigators on the scene included personnel from the Indiana State Police, Greene County Ambulance Service, IU Health Bloomington Ambulance Service, and the Center Fire Department.
