Dona Sue Bissey, 52, and Anna Morgan-Lloyd, 49, both from Bloomfield, were taken into custody and then held by the U.S. Marshal’s Service prior to their appearances in court.

Both women have been charged with one felony and one misdemeanor - knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

The maximum penalty for the felony is 10 years in prison, a fine up to $250,000 and up to three years of supervised release. The maximum penalty for the misdemeanor is six months in prison, a fine up to $5,000 and up to one year of supervised release.

Following arrests in these cases, defendants must appear in the federal court where the arrest takes place. After that, their cases will be handled in Washington, D.C.

Following their hearings, the two women were released from federal custody but will soon appear in the D.C. court although they may be allowed to participate via Zoom.

In addition to the tips received by the FBI, one of the women, Anna Morgan-Lloyd, went into the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Friday, January 22, to obtain a firearms permit. Someone at the sheriff’s department had seen the posts and photos on Facebook and recognized her. Following a review of the posts and photos, the sheriff’s department referred the matter to the FBI.

The criminal complaint filed against Bissey and Morgan-Lloyd details the evidence against the two women and includes numerous screenshots of their social media posts and photos they took on January 6 while at the Capitol Building.
