Energy assistance applications open Oct. 1

It may not feel like heating season just yet, but colder weather will be here before we know it.

Pace Community Action Agency will begin accepting applications for its Energy Assistance Program on Thursday, Oct. 1. The program helps eligible households with home energy costs during the colder months.

For Greene County residents who would like help completing or reviewing an application, Pace will hold an in-person application assistance event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at the Linton Public Library, 95 1st St. SE.

Additional assistance events are scheduled throughout Pace's service area:

  • Knox County: Oct. 1, Pace CAA, Vincennes

  • Greene County: Oct. 8, Linton Public Library

  • Sullivan County: Oct. 15, Sullivan County Library

  • Daviess County: Oct. 22, Washington Carnegie Library

Residents may attend any of the assistance events, regardless of their county, according to Pace.

Applications will be available beginning Oct. 1 online, at Pace locations and at most local libraries.
