Driver without a license arrested by WPD officer

Robert Dickerson

A Jasonville man, arrested by a Worthington police officer earlier this month, appeared in court Thursday morning and was charged with operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license.

Robert Howard Dickerson, 28, was pulled over on Saturday, June 16, by WPD Deputy Marshal Russell Walls.

Walls said he saw a small green pickup truck eastbound on Terre Haute Road in the Worthington area that failed to signal as it crossed onto County Road 200 West.

During the traffic stop, Dickerson allegedly told the officer he did not have a driver’s license and had never had one.

Dickerson was arrested and his truck was impounded.

His bond was set at $500 surety with ten percent allowed. He posted $50 cash and was released later the same day.

A public defender was appointed to represent Dickerson.

Knowingly or intentionally operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license is a Class C misdemeanor.
