Driver charged with OVWI tested with BAC of .157

A driver who tested with a BAC of .157 was arrested on OVWI charges on Monday night.

Catherine Rose Fleetwood, 38, Bloomington, was arrested by Indiana State Police Trooper Richard Klun on Monday night, December 13.

Fleetwood was the driver of a blue 2009 Chevrolet Malibu that was stopped by Trooper Klun on North algood Drive in Bloomfield around 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Trooper Klun reported he detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Fleetwood and that she showed numerous signs of intoxication including poor dexterity, unsure balance. She allegedly pulled herself out of the vehicle then staggered and had to lean against the vehicle to maintain balance.

Fleetwood allegedly failed standard field sobriety tests and agreed to take a certified chemical breath test. Trooper Klun reported the results showed she had an alcohol concentration of .157. The legal limit is .08.

Fleetwood was booked into the Greene County Jail at 8:10 p.m. Monday with bond set at $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. She has since posted $400 and been released from custody.

When she appears in Greene Superior Court for her initial hearing, she will be facing charges of:

  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor,

  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor, and

  • Operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to .15 or more, a Class A misdemeanor.
