Driver arrested last week for OVWI in traffic stop south of Worthington
/A driver was arrested last week for operating a vehicle while intoxicated after she was pulled over in a traffic stop south of Worthington.
Christina Marie Bell, 49, Brazil, Ind., was arrested by Deputy Zachary Goad of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department early last Thursday, June 17.
Bell was the driver of a maroon 2010 Honda Civic that was stopped for a traffic violation in the area of State Road 67 and SR 57 south of Worthington shortly before midnight last Wednesday, June 16.
Deputy Goad reported he could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Bell and she exhibited several signs of intoxication including poor balance and dexterity.
Bell allegedly failed field sobriety tests then the results of a chemical breath test at the sheriff’s department showed she had a BAC of .121. The legal limit is .08.
Bell was booked into the Greene County Jail at 2:13 a.m. with bond set at $8,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed.
Bell appeared in Greene Superior Court via two-way video connection between the jail and the courtroom on Monday morning and was charged with:
Operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction within seven years, a Level 6 felony,
Operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to .08 or more – with a prior conviction, a Level 6 felony,
Operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor, and
Operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to at least 08 but less than .15, a Class C misdemeanor.
She has since posted bond and been released from jail.
