An eastern Greene County man who ran off I-69 and went over an embankment in his yellow Charger at 1:38 a.m. last Saturday was allegedly driving with a BAC of .201.

Glyndon Short

Glyndon E. Short, 52, was arrested by Sgt. Bobby Pierce of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department early Saturday, June 8. Records show Short lives in eastern Greene County but has a Bloomington mailing address.

Sgt. Pierce, the investigating officer, responded to the scene at mile marker 99 on I-69 where a yellow 2017 Dodge Charger had run off the road. Pierce said the car had gone over an embankment and got stuck but no property damage or injury was reported.

Short was the driver who was sitting behind the wheel during Pierce’s investigation and allegedly admitted driving.

Pierce reported Short showed signs of impairment including poor balance and slurred speech. Short allegedly staggered from the vehicle and failed field sobriety testing.

Short was transported to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department where he submitted to a chemical test. The results showed Short had a blood alcohol concentration of .201 at 3:10 a.m. The legal limit is .08.

Short was booked in with a bond of $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He posted $400 cash and was released later the same day.

When Short appeared in Greene Superior Court yesterday, Thursday, June 13, he was charged with:

  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor.

  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor.

  • Operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to .15 or more, a Class A misdemeanor.
