A domestic dispute resulted in the first arrest in 2020 in Greene County. A woman was booked into jail before 3 a.m. on New Year’s Day. She is accused of punching her husband in the face.

Amber Nicole Wilson

Amber Nicole Wilson, 36, Jasonville, was arrested early Wednesday, January 1, by Officer Skylar Scott of the Jasonville Police Department. Wilson was booked into the Greene County Jail around 2:42 a.m.

Officer Scott responded after a man walked into the police department and reported he had been battered by his wife, Amber Wilson, at their residence on Horace Street.

The man said the couple had gotten into an argument so he left to let things cool down but when he returned, the argument restarted and Wilson punched him in the face. He said he pushed her out of his way and left the residence.

Officer Scott reported the man had a laceration above an eye and blood on his face.

When Officer Scott went to the residence to talk to Wilson, her story was similar but she allegedly said when the man returned, he started yelling at her so she punched him in the face. She also agreed the man did not hit her back.

Wilson was transported to the Greene County Jail where her bond was set at $1,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. She posted $100, was released and given a court date of Monday, January 13, to appear for her initial hearing when she’ll be formally charged with domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor.
