At least three deputies responded on Monday evening after someone reported a man said a woman was going to kill him and do a “blood sacrifice.”

Brandon Charles Sanders, 27, was arrested by Deputy Kelly Hutchens of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday evening, October 12. Jail records showed Sanders with a home address in Oakland City. His latest entry in court records shows he has a home address in Patoka.

Deputy Hutchens, the investigating officer, was dispatched along with Deputies Michael Coy and David Elmore shortly before 6 p.m. on Monday to a location on East Chapel Road in the Solsberry area where a man wearing all black was reported to be there saying a woman was going to kill him and do a “blood sacrifice.”

By 6:09 p.m., the deputies had arrived and located the man who gave a name that did not turn out to be valid. After some interaction with the deputies, Deputy Elmore asked the man if he had any warrants out and the man said he did, then allegedly admitted he had been lying.

Deputy Hutchens reported the man was then identified as Brandon Sanders, who said he was scared and he was sorry.

Sanders was taken into custody on a warrant issued for his arrest out of Gibson County as a result of an incident that occurred on September 7. He’s wanted there on charges of felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, and an infraction for driving while suspended.

Sanders was booked into the Greene County Jail at 7:39 p.m. on the Gibson County warrant and on a preliminary charge of identity deception, a Level 6 felony, in Greene County.

His bond is set at $750 cash only in Gibson County and $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed in Greene County. As of late Friday, October 15, he has not yet posted any bond and is still in custody.
