Couple arrested in domestic altercation in front of children
A couple was arrested Monday night after police responded to a physical domestic fight. They’ve both bonded out of jail and are facing battery charges committed in the presence of children.
Kristin Danielle Langley, 25, and Clayton Duane Langley, 29, both of Worthington, were arrested by Deputy Marshal Brittany Ingram of the Bloomfield Police Department on Monday, November 16.
Around 8:48 p.m. Monday, Officer Ingram was dispatched to a residence on C Street in Bloomfield for an active domestic altercation. She was met at the door by a woman who told her a fight was going on in the back of the residence. Officer Ingram could hear the two people and told them to come to the front of the home.
When Kristin Langley and her husband, Clayton Langley, came out into the kitchen, Officer Ingram noticed Clayton Langley had a bloody nose and the right side of Kristin Langley’s face was red. Kristin allegedly got loud and started yelling that people needed to mind their own business.
When Greene County Sheriff’s Deputies Alan Jackson, Devan Goad and Camron Frye arrived to assist, both Langleys were interviewed along with other witnesses who were present in the home.
Clayton allegedly said they had gotten into a verbal argument that got heated and physical but they were both fine. He also said the two had called for a ride and planned to leave the residence and would not cause any more issues.
Kristin confirmed they were arguing, it got heated and said Clayton smacked her and she hit him multiple times.
Officer Ingram reported there was blood splatter all over the floor and the bed in the back bedroom and there were three young children in the residence at the time of the incident. A witness said one child ran out of the bedroom and another one was running back and forth. Another witness said they saw a child run out of the bedroom, hit the floor and scream about the altercation.
Both Langleys were transported to the Greene County Jail where they were booked in at 9:52 p.m. Their bonds were both set at $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. They have both since posted $400 and been released.
Their initial hearings are both set for Monday, November 30. Both Langleys are facing a preliminary charge of domestic battery committed in the presence of a child less than 16 years old, a Level 6 felony.
