Center-Jackson: Sleeping occupants escape RV on fire early Tuesday on I-69 off-ramp
Center-Jackson Fire responded early today to an RV on fire at I-69 and State Road 445. People were sleeping inside but all escaped and no injuries were reported.
Personnel from the Center-Jackson Fire Territory were dispatched around 4:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 2, to a vehicle on fire on the off-ramp of I-69.
When they arrived, they found a fully-engulfed 2020 Chateau RV camper parked on the shoulder of the exit.
All occupants of the RV were asleep but managed to escape.
Personnel from Van Buren Fire also responded and Center-Jackson reported the fire crews were able to extinguish the fire.
Center-Jackson said the fire is believed to have started in or near the engine compartment.
