Bond set at $25,000 cash for violation of protective order

Bond was set at $25,000 cash for a Bloomfield man accused of violating a protective order in late July.

Jason Dale Allen

Jason Dale Allen, 38, Bloomfield, was arrested by Sgt. Jordan Allor of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Sunday afternoon, July 25.

The sheriff’s department received a tip around 2:47 p.m. that Sunday that Jason Allen, who was wanted on a warrant issued out of Lawrence County, was at a location on East McCullough Lane.

Sgt. Allor responded and when he arrived, he saw Allen standing next to a camper. When the deputy got out of his patrol vehicle, Allen turned and started running toward the woods. When Sgt. Allor announced himself, Allen stopped running and put his hands up. Allen allegedly said he was just fixing the plumbing on the camper and was running to get a shovel. When Allen walked back to the deputy and put his hands behind his back, he was taken into custody.

A woman and a juvenile were also present on the property at the time and Greene County Dispatch advised Sgt. Allor of a valid protective order against Allen who was to have no contact with the woman on the property. It was issued in Monroe County in October of 2019 with no expiration date.

Both Allen and the woman said the protective order was supposed to be dropped and Allen said he wouldn’t be there if he thought it would be a problem. Sgt. Allor explained that in addition to the warrant, Allen would be charged with invasion of privacy in Greene County.

Allen was transported to the Greene County Jail where he was booked in at 3:58 p.m. and held without bond pending court appearance.

When Allen appeared in Greene Superior Court last Thursday afternoon via two-way video between the jail and the courtroom, he was formally charged with invasion of privacy in violation of a protective order, a Class A misdemeanor, and his bond in the Greene County case was set at $25,000 cash in full with no ten percent cash allowed. Allen is still in jail – he has not posted bond.
