On the afternoon of April 23rd, investigators continued to follow-up with the shooting investigation. Video surveillance from inside the Kalao Nightclub was able to be viewed. The video showed the suspect and the 41 year-old victim in an altercation just prior to the shooting. The suspect can then be seen producing a handgun and firing multiple times in the very crowded bar area. At this time, it is believed that there was only one shooter inside the nightclub. The suspect then ran out of the establishment and fled the area prior to the arrival of officers.

A probable cause affidavit was filed in the Monroe Circuit Court and an arrest warrant for Washington was issued on April 25th for multiple felony charges related to the shooting.
Detectives began surveilling several locations around Monroe County in an effort to locate Washington. On May 2nd, detectives determined that Washington was inside a residence in the 400 block of S. Magnolia Court. Because of the seriousness of the crimes committed and the belief that Washington may be armed, the Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) was utilized to arrest Washington.
After speaking with investigators, Keiantrea Washington was transported to the Monroe County Jail and remanded for the following charges:
Attempted Murder, level 1 felony
Aggravated Battery (two counts), level 3 felony
