When Jerry Mahurin, an Indiana Department of Corrections Parole Officer, made a home visit on Dec. 7, he found several drug-related items. After the incident, a warrant was issued for and carried out for Danny Mullis on Dec. 12.

Mullis is facing preliminary charges of:

  • Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 6 Felony

  • Possession of Marijuana, a Class B Misdemeanor

  • Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class C Misdemeanor

Mahurin conducted a parole search of Mullis’s residence and reported his findings to Det. Shawn Cullison of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department. According to a probable cause affidavit written by Cullison, the following items were located during Mahurin’s search:

  • One baggie containing a white crystal-like substance

  • One clear glass smoking device with white and burnt residue inside

  • One clear plastic bag with a blue twist tie holding it closed with white powder inside

  • One large glass smoking device with two glass tubes on it and burnt and white residue inside

  • Five half burnt hand rolled cigarettes with green and burnt plant material inside.

  • One baggie, with several cotton swabs and blue straw inside

Mahurin presented Cullison with a "Notice of Confiscated Property" form, stating he took marijuana roaches, a bag of methamphetamine, and glass pipes from Mullis.

During Mahurin’s visit, he told Cullison he attempted to get a urine sample from Mullis but was unsuccessful as Mullis alleged he was unable to urinate. Mullis did inform Mahurin that he would test positive for THC and methamphetamine. Officer Mahurin had a "Preliminary Test Result Form" where he documented that Mullis was unable to urinate. On the back page of the form, Mahurin had Mullis write that he would be "Positive for: THC and Meth" and Mr. Mullis wrote his initials on the form.

Mullis is currently being held in Greene County Jail without bond.
